So what's needed to make it a successful night? These 3 key elements can't guarantee a smashing date, but it can at least get things off to a great start: good teeth, fluffy hair, and sexy underwear. Once I told my boyfriend that we'd go on our "official date night" after the tweet up, I knew I had to wear sexy underwear to the joint because let's face it--sexiness starts underneath. In my mind, I knew how things were going down--at a Gay bar in New York City--and I wanted to be prepared. Once we entered the bar, people recognized Nandoism and they came to say hello, but once they got a look at my boyfriend, the party for Nandoism was over and the celebration for Marin_NYC began. My boyfriend is hot and people flock to hot. Me, I'm funny, people will want a joke or two, maybe even stick around for an anecdote but once you spot hotness, funny just ain't cut'n it no more and they move on. This time would be different, I was wearing my sexy undies which allowed me to play a little sociological game with the Gays.
Scientists have proven that there's a direct correlation between a person's self-esteem and the type of attention they get. if someone thinks they're a 10; they attract a 10. If someone feels like a 4, they look for other 4s but settle for less, like a 2 or 1, if a 4 doesn't reciprocate. My boyfriend is a hot 9 and I'm a sultry 7. What? I know my place.

As the night progressed and my boyfriend had a swarm of men around him, I saw his face--he was nervous; this new found attention was something he didn't crave or understand what do to with. His shy demeanor and his huge camera made him approachable. And the Gays approached.

Boyfriend: Why?
Nando: I need new boots for the winter and your photo money can pay for them.
Boyfriend: Oh.
He booked a few photoshoots and received several referrals that night. And me? I was testing my underwear theory. If I'm wearing something that makes me feel sexy and confident, then that'll shine through. So I put the humor on hold and just worked "me" and the powerful feeling I had knowing I felt good. Silly how a nice new pair of sexy underwear can make you feel like, but it's true. I never paid too much attention to underwear before, but one of my exes was a total underwear guy. He was all about the fabric, the feel, the experience. Some of that rubbed off on me, I guess that relationship did have its good points. I can't lie. No one hit on me, (not even a little wink) but, I felt sexy, standing there having a good time with new twitter friends as I shot intimate glances to my boyfriend from across the room that said, "I love you, I want you, I need boots!"
