Before I saw the video, I wan’t too sure what I thought about the situation, but after I saw it–I was so touched, that I’m no longer supporting Target stores because of their support in the anti-gay movement. You know this blog doesn’t really dive into politics, but this was a hot topic that got my Gay Mexican blood boiling. Last week, the Target Corporation gave $150,000 to Minnesota Forward, an anti-gay group supporting Republican Tom Emmer’s campaign for Minnesota governor.
Watch the video and see why this women is my new hero, idol and Wonder Woman!
This Eden Prairie mom and grandmother took her anger directly to a Target but her repeated attempts to speak to Target executives failed so she took her Target Charge Card and charged $226 then immediately returned the items for credit in protest. She then scissored her Target card into little pieces. I know several Gay people who work at Target, and I wonder how this makes them feel. Could you work for a place that did something like this?

This isn’t even a political issue with me. I hate Target stores and don’t buy their cheap crap anyways. Yah, I’m a snob!
I honestly don’t think corporate givings to any political affiliation are a good idea. They should come privately from individuals, as it is personal.
What?! WTF, Target? Yes, why are they giving their money to political causes? Stick to selling Tide and cheap Isaac Mizrahi crap! No more Target for me. Luckily, I didn’t really shop there anyway but I will spread the word.

Target’s loss. Who will now call it Tarjay?
Everybody knows the gays are bangable … err … bankable, so preventing them from compulsively and impulsively spending their money on MAC cosmetics is bad marketing strategy. Reading The Weekly Dumb Dumb ain’t good for business, Target execs.

I used to work for let’s say a company painfully similar to this one.
Trust me, a lot of the reasons why I left had to do with their reaction to certain situations that were so in contrast to their public persona. Yes, they are a highly charitable corporation, but this should be a reminder to those folks at headquarters that you have to watch you money trail much more closely.
