Day 10: #Nando25 Challenge: The Creative Process

The #Nando25 Challenge Idea: The Creative Process can drive us and motivate us to do great things from writing our first blog post to writing our first book, but the question is–“Does the creative process drive us or is it the other way around?” I’ve teamed up with my friend and Creative Coach Nathan Seven Scott who will give you insights into his creative process and how he’s managed to write 6 manuscripts in under a year. His first book, My Turn, was reviewed on-air by Wendy Williams who had sexy things to say about Nathan’s hot + steamy serial killer series.

You can apply these tips to help in whatever creative projects you’re doing, trust me. After I created this video with Nathan, I rushed home, wrote down his tips + reshaped my own creative process/cycle. He’s inspired me to really “get it” and set it to motion! Are you looking for a creative group? Are you looking for a creative coalition? What about having a creative curriculum? Watch this before you take one more step…or have one more thought!

The Lesson: Watch the video + be present

The #Nando25 Challenge Homework:
1. Find a creative mentor — contact them + make an agreement.
2. Find an accountability partner (different than your mentor) to keep you on track with your deadlines.
3. Set + Create a new “creative structure” — once you do, leave it on the facebook page.

Day 9: #Nando25 Challenge: How to Wear Your Crown

The #Nando25 Challenge Idea: I’m sure you’ve heard of “7 minutes in Heaven” right? Where you get stuck in a closet with another person and you “get to work” by any means necessary, resulting in good times. Well, this is NOTHING like that–so get your mind out of the gutter. I’m twisting the concept around and want you to think about what it’s like to be royalty. How do you see yourself? As a Queen? or a King? Some of you might have to start out small…maybe a Prince. But imagine what it would feel like to wearing a crown with precious jewels and be the ruler of YOU land. How would that change how you walk, talk + react? I’m talking major self-esteem boost here. I’m talking self improvement! Well, then let’s put on our crowns, baby! And it only takes 8 minutes. I’ll explain how in the video.

The Lesson: Watch the Video + Be Present

The #Nando25 Challenge Homework: As of today, take 8 mins to prep yourself before “crowning yourself” and write in your #Nando25 Day Challenge journal words that will prep: “ambitious, courageous, smart, bright, sexy, contagiously funny, spontaneous and adorable.” Also, start wearing your crown and being fully present to that feeling. What are some of the results that are happening? (Write down at least 3).

Day 8: #Nando25 Challenge: Claim Your Space

The #Nando25 Challenge Idea: There will be several moments in life that will cause you the loss of your space–only of you allow it. What space am I  referring to? Your way of “being”. Right now, how you are, how you act, is what I refer to as your “way of being.” If your “way of being” is to be meek, shy, quiet, always gets stood up, never speaks up, gets assigned the crap job at work, then you’re “way of being” might not be too successful. It’s your “way of being” that keeps you in that YOU bubble–and you must learn to activate a “new way of being” if that YOU BUBBLE isn’t getting you the results you want out of life. If you always stand on the side lines at bars waiting for men to approach you–and that keeps you single–then maybe your “way of being” isn’t bringing you the results you need in your dating life. If your way of being is to never look at your bank account while you go on extravagant shopping sprees–which result in arguments with your husband, then your “way of being” will eventually ruin your relationship. What to do? Claim your space! Claim your space in your dating life, your work life, your finance life, + your creative life! I’ve teamed up with New York City Life Coach, Tara Padua to give you 5 tips to helping you claim your space!

BONUS #Nando25 CHallenge MATERIAL: Learn to Claim your Space, where ever you are in life and starting having daily Exclamation Mark Moments! These EMMs are going to help you keep the energy up and propel you to your next EMM which will probably be bigger than your last one! How do I know? Because life happens in language and if we declare it, it will be.

The Lesson: Watch the Nando + Tara Video and be present.

The #Nando25 Challenge Homework:
1. Get/identify/create your visual cue that’ll remind you to claim your daily Exclamation Mark Moments!
2. Take pic of your visual cue + upload to Facebook and tag me, or on instgram and mention me, or tweet it out and @ me.
3. Start keeping track of your EMMs in your #Nando25 Journal and before the day is over, share at least one with the group on our private #Nando25 Facebook page.

Day 5: #Nando25 Challenge: How Social Media Can Improve + Better Your Life

The #Nando25 Challenge Idea: How can social media actually help you in increasing your motivation or creativity? It really can be a place to explore new ideas and boost your “awesome factors.” It’s also a place where you can learn how to improve on ideas and get instant feedback which can 100% be what you need when you’re feeling isolated and uninspired. Just beware, don’t use social media as an outlet to vent frustrations or too much disappointment–that’s taking the “social” out of it and no one likes a Debbie Downer. And according to experts, social media is a great way to keep accountable on self-improvement goals–sound familiar?

The Lesson: Watch the video + be present. (Guest appearance by Gemma Craven, Social Media Expert)

The Homework: Sign up (if you haven’t already) onto Pintrest and start a “THE NEW ME” board and start pinning items like clothes (the new weight you), quotes (to bring you inspiration), and anything else that flows with the theme of the new YOU you’d like to create at the end of the #Nando25 Day Challenge.

The Meanings We Attach to Life Situations

Day 3: #Nando25 Challenge: The SCAMS in Your Life

The Idea: I want you to consider the concept of SCAMS. It’s a 2 sided concept that serves a purpose in your life. You’ve designed them in order to receive a pay-off — whether that’s to keep you from being responsible in life or to make some else WRONG and make YOURSELF RIGHT. When there’s a SCAM present, there’s also a great pay-off.

The Lesson: Watch the video + be present

The Homework: In your #Nando25 Challenge journal, (a notebook or journal you’ve chosen to keep all your homework assignments organized) identify 3 scams you’re running on yourself (include at least 1 that you run on others) and try to get to the other side of the scam. Once you have completed the homework–post a message on our #Nando25 Facebook group page that you “completed my homeork.” If you need help–consider those constant complaints you have in your life whether it’s your boyfriend not working, your children being evil little devils, or your grandmother not sending you a birthday card–what’s at the other side of that?
