Meet Jazmin Chavez #Nando25 Collaborator

Say hello to Jazmin Chavez! Jazmin is a highly motivated, energetic, talented and  passionate social media strategist and social innovator in New York City.

Born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico (same as me),  Jazmin has lived a trans-national and bi-cultural experience. As an immigrant herself, Jazmin’s identity and ideological foundation stems from the experience of comprehending and navigating the U.S. legal system. From this foundation (With over 10 years of legal experience), she serves as a passionate advocate and strategist  and has dedicated her professional life to becoming an effective justice innovator and movement entrepreneur for communities in need.  She is a featured writer for Being Latino, Ms. JD, LatinVision and currently serves as the social media strategists for East Willy B: an original web series, American Bar Associations’ Commission on Women, Create a Path, and many more.She is the founder of Justicia Hoy, a site that utilizes innovative lawyering to monitor, comment and report on news, laws and events that have an impact on the Latino and immigrant community across the nation, co-founder of Pinxe Cards, a spanglish greeting card company and adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts and Bronx Community College.On her free time,  she writes in, Dia Por Dia,  a blog about inspirational humor. She enjoys being a foodie with her husband, and you can often find her at Joe’s Shanghai eating her favorite soup dumplings or preparing for hot dog and dumpling eating competitions in New York.

1. What prompted you to do the #Nando25 challenge?Donuts. I eat way to many donuts and I need help. Actually, I just want to keep improving myself and I want to do it in a supportive community. Plus, Nando's pretty cool too... I guess.

2. What are you hoping to get out of it?A  new skill set and group of friends to connect with.

3. What areas of your life are you trying to improve?I think a deeper commitment to myself and to honor myself.  I love doing things for others but I don't take that same love and appreciation and show it to myself.

4. What is your favorite motto or quote?I am the master of my fate and the captain of my soul.  But I have tons more on my blog because I've always been a quote junkie. I have a notebook full of quotes.Follow her @jazminchavez!
