Fab post ! and ironically had just come across Marna’s blog last night through a link of a link or something like that !

I suppose I’ve only recently started online dating .. not thoroughly active on it though .. I met this man in ‘05 on Hi5 (not that its a dating site) and we ended up together for 1.5 years until he absolutely crushed me by telling me we couldn’t be together.

Last summer, after much pressure, I got onto a marriage site (Indian girl, 28 yrs single – basically expired goods!) and went on 2 ‘dates’ … all the good looking men live too far away from me

Recently got on OkCupid to help Simone out in picking some guys – and now have been bombarded by some creeps in my area .. again all the eye candy live far far away .. *Sigh*

Ahhh… Always best to stop looking. Or try dating loop holes, like moving in with some guy as a “roommate” while on the rebound and not even thinking about romance. This helps if you want to skip the “will he call?” stage, not to mention the “should we move in together?” phase. Warning- this may lead to marriage….

Mike and Nina – right on. I was laid off an August and the similarities between looking for love and looking for a job are endless (e.g. years of experience ).

I’m sure I’ll be back on the sauce at some point, but I’m focusing on my career and me and the rest will follow… when I’m not looking.

I’m old and I’ve been in a relationship long before any kind of internet dating was available. My how times have changed from bars and other more seedy places. Nina has a point though, internet or not, when you stop looking and stop the desperation, that is when HE pops up into your life. That is exactly what happened to me.

That is also how I feel. In this bad economy I believe finding a job is a lot like finding a partner: The minute you stop looking is the minute one will find you. I’m tired of having my feelings hurt on both accounts and I have never felt more at ease with this way of thinking.

‘net dating! Ah how I love and hate thee…. you gave me three very close friends (see some failed dating attempts are not complete wastes of time when you ditch the loving for the friendship) but you snatched away so many nights that would have been better spent with the men of Falcon methinks… after meeting so many maladjusted, serial killer wannabes, I ended up meeting my current, and much loved boyfriend via…. a friend! I have to laugh…. all that effort and ye olde antiquated non-’net ways won out…..
